KS1 Activities

We have pulled together a list of activities and resources for KS1 children that may be suitable and can be adapted to following social distancing guidelines.

All activities will need to be risk assessed based and your school guidance around coronavirus followed. Activities should also be amended to suit your young people, facilities and environment.

Two-minute videos that focus on different aspects of the National Curriculum to develop children’s skill development in PE. 

PE at Home

Activities that can be used at home or at school for all Key Stages. Sports include: basketball, athletics, OAA, tennis, gymnastics, cricket and dance.

Cosmic Kids

Themed yoga lessons, mindfulness activities & relaxation sessions

PE Learning

PE activities that can be done individually or in pairs/small groups with a focus on the development of physical competence and actively learning the importance of personal skills to support social, emotional and mental wellbeing.

Active Learning

Teaching wider school subjects such as English and Maths in a physical way so as to reduce children sitting for too long and making the learning fun e.g. times table squats

An activity to improve balance (from British Judo)

Improve pupils control when dribbling a ball

Improve your pupils knowledge of swimming strokes and skills

Disney 10 minute Shake Ups

10-minute activities based on Disney films that count towards a child’s 60 active minutes per day

Supermovers

Videos which help children move while they learn. They support curriculum subjects, including maths and English

Chance to Shine

Chance to Shine have created a bank of free resources for Primary and Secondary schools, so teachers can lead their own cricket sessions with confidence. These include lesson plans, instructional videos and top tips from the professionals.
