PE Apprenticeship & Community Sport Apprenticeship information session
FREE
In partnership with Riverside Training, we are extending our successful PE and School Sport apprenticeship to more schools and also community organisations from January 2021, across both Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
The Level 3 Community Sport and Health Officer qualification (approved by CIMPSA) aims to engage people in sport and physical activity in schools and/or local communities. The key role of the apprentice is to initiate behaviour change and support individuals and groups of people to become more physically active, with scope for employers to tailor the role to suit their organisational outcomes. The course will be delivered by Nick Ashton, an experienced former head of PE and qualified coach. Apprentices will need to be released for off the job training (study days) for 20% of the time and the remaining 80% will be with you as the employer.
The apprenticeship will commence in January as this will mean that all organisations are eligible to receive a grant of up to a £3000 from the government (depending on the age of the learner). Alternatively, existing employees are also eligible to take part in the apprenticeship programme, thus providing the ideal opportunity to offer staff a comprehensive training opportunity, no matter their age.
The information session will take place via Zoom and will provide you with information on the following:
- Recruitment process
- Financial information
- Benefits of having an apprentice
- Timescales
It will also be an opportunity for you to meet Nick (tutor) and ask any questions you may have.
Once signed up, details of the online meeting will be emailed to you 24 hours before.
