CPD: Sensory Circuits – An introduction
Sensory Circuits are structured sequences of physical activities designed to help children regulate their sensory input and reach an optimal level of alertness for learning. Each circuit typically includes three phases:
- Alerting activities (e.g jumping, bouncing) to stimulate the senses.
- Organising activities (e.g. balancing, catching) to develop focus, coordination and body awareness.
- Calming activities (e.g. deep pressure, gentle rocking) to soothe and prepare pupils for concentration.
The potential benefits of using Sensory Circuits include: increased levels of physical activity, helping reduce sedentary behaviour, improved focus, attention and readiness to learn, positive impact on pupils’ self-esteem, confidence and overall well-being, as well as the development of physical and motor skills that support both learning and participation in PE and extra-curricular activities.
This event is free for Stride Active partnership schools (you will not be invoiced) and £45 for non partnership schools.
Please note that this event may be subject to our cancellation policy (terms and conditions)
